Hear from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) about ongoing seat belt work. FMCSA will share an overview of commercial motor vehicle seat belt use including a review of data, research, and ideas for improving seat belt use among this group. NTSB will discuss case studies of school bus crash investigations, seat belt recommendations, and highlight current advocacy efforts to enhance seat belt use. NHTSA will provide an overview of the Seat Belt Reminder Systems Final Rule, which requires belt use warnings for rear seats and enhanced warnings for drivers and front seat passengers.
