The California Association of DUI Treatment Programs (CADTP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the integrity of California’s DUI programs. Established in 1986 and incorporated in 1988, CADTP partners with its member organizations to promote a comprehensive understanding of DUI programs and safeguard their operational integrity. This mission is achieved through robust advocacy, educational initiatives, and collaborative efforts with legislators, state and county officials, and community stakeholders. CADTP is self-sustaining, relying on membership dues, association activities, and contributions. Recognized under the California Administrative Code, Title 9, Section 13035, CADTP is authorized to certify alcohol and other drug counselors. The organization’s Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor (SUDCC) certification is nationally accredited by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence/National Commission for Certifying Agencies (ICE/NCCA). This certification meets state requirements for counselors to work in a variety of substance use disorder programs, including but not limited to DUI programs. A core tenet of CADTP’s mission is to offer high-quality certification services while keeping costs reasonable and maintaining exceptional customer service. By prioritizing the needs of its members and the broader DUI program field, CADTP continues to play a pivotal role in promoting safer communities and advancing the standards of care within the substance use disorder treatment landscape.
